A Right to Rent check is a legal requirement for private landlords in England. RapidProof's digital check is Home Office compliant and provides a full statutory excuse audit trail.
No account needed. Just pay per check and we'll send the verification link directly to the prospective tenant. Both tenant and landlord will reveive the report by email - no logins, no dashboards, no subscriptions.

Yes. RapidProof is a certified Identity Service Provider (IDSP) under the UK Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework. Our checks satisfy Home Office requirements for Right to Rent checks and establish a statutory excuse against civil penalties.
Landlords are responsible for unertaking the Right to Rent verification service and ensuring tenants have the information needed to complete it. Once verification is complete, the documentation will be shared with both tenant and landlord. The tenant receives a passcode to share with the landlord to allow them access to their documents; from that point, it is the landlords responsibility to securely retain the tenant's verification details for at least one year after the tenancy ends, in line with Right to Rent compliance requirements. RapidProof does not retain this documentation beyond 30 days after completion of the verification, so all parties should download and store the documentation as soon as it's provided to the buyer.
Tenants are responsible for completing the verification process promptly after landlords/agents purchase the service on the tenants behalf. This includes providing accurate, genuine, and up-to-date identity documents, and ensuring any photos or scans you submit are legible and unaltered. Once your identity has been verified, tenants will receive a passcode, which can be shared with the landlord to allow them access to your proof of verification - sharing the passcode is entirely at the tenants discretion but the process wont be complete until shared. Please note that RapidProof holds the verification details for 30 days following completion of the service; after this period, tenants and will need to retain their own copies.
A valid biometric passport is required. Recipients also take a quick selfie on their smartphone to confirm identity. No physical document copies or in-person meetings are required. Landlords are recommended to meet tenants face to face to ensure tenants match their ID.
Most checks complete within 5–10 minutes from the moment your prospective tenant completes the invitation. Tenant and landlords receive the verified report by email immediately after they complete their part. Landlord's will need prospective tenant's secure passcode to access their proof documentation.
RapidProof retains verification details for 30 days following completion of the verification service (not from the date of purchase). If you lose your copy of the documentation within this window, please contact us and we'll be happy to help you retrieve it. If more than 30 days have passed and the details are no longer held by us, you're welcome to purchase the verification service again to generate a new set of documentation. We'd recommend downloading and securely storing your verification documents as soon as they're issued, to avoid needing to repeat the process.
If tenant verification fails - for example due to a poor-quality photo - they may retry at no additional cost. If verification fails again on a subsequent attempt, this does not entitle you to a refund. Buyers are welcome to request a refund, and we will assess each request on its individual circumstances, including the reason for rejection and the number of attempts made; RapidProof reserves the right to approve or deny such requests at its discretion. A non-refundable £4.99 service fee applies to every processed upload and will always be deducted from any refund issued. Where we determine that a rejection resulted from a genuine technical fault on our side we may as a goodwill gesture refund the fee paid.
